Tour Description:
Our day starts with a visit to the beautiful village of Franschhoek,
near the Drakenstein Mountains, founded in 1688 by French immigrants fleeing the Huguenot religious persecution in Europe. A memorial in the town commemorates the arrival of these early settlers who helped develop the wines favoured by Napoleon, Bismark and royalty such as Edward VII, Prince of Wales. Here we will stop for sabrage and wine tasting at Haute Cabriere with lunch at La Petite Ferne.
We will then head for Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa and the historic heart of the country's wine region. In 1679, Dutch East India Company governor Simon van der Stel realised that the fertility of this long valley on the banks of the Eerste River would be perfect for vineyards. The rest is history, which has been carefully cultivated in this town. A gracious blend of 18th-century Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings is evident on Dorp Street, where massive oaks still shade original water furrows. Enjoy a final wine tasting and walkabout in Stellenbosch before returning to Cape Town.
Please note that this tour may run in reverse based on the number of people booked on the tour.

Tour Description:
Our tour begins with a drive to Kloof Nek and the magnificent Table Mountain. We will ascend to the top (weather permitting) in the revolving cable car. There we will see wild flowers and the famous silver tree, and marvel at the breathtaking bird’s eye-view of the city and its beaches. On a clear day it is even possible to see Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) on one side and Cape Point on the other. At the summit one can go on short walks to enjoy the magnificent vistas. Descend from the upper cableway station to your awaiting vehicle. Our tour then continues with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range.
From there we travel to Simon’s Town to visit the Boulders penguin colony, home to a growing colony of the vulnerable African penguin. It started in 1983 when a pair of African jackass penguins was noticed on Foxy Beach, which is a part of Boulders Beach in Cape Town. Two years later the couple chose the same beach as their nesting site. Since then the Boulders Beach penguin colony has grown, increasing at an average rate of 60% a year that was mostly due to migration from Dyer Island. Today there are an estimated 30 000 breeding pairs of African penguins at Boulders Beach.
Our next stop will be the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, world-renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for its magnificent setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch grows only indigenous South African plants. The estate covers 528 hectares and supports a diverse fynbos flora and natural forest. The cultivated garden (36 hectares) displays collections of South African plants, particularly those from the winter rainfall region of the country.
We continue our tour to Groot Constantia Wine Estate, the finest surviving example of Cape Dutch architecture and one of South Africa’s foremost historical monuments and tourist attractions, dating back to 1685. In that year Simon van der Stel, popular commander and later governor of the Cape, was granted land for a farm, which he named Constantia.
The name “Constantia” is irrevocably linked to the most famous wines made in South Africa. Constantia wine
was coveted across the globe. Limited volumes were produced and it was so expensive that it was exclusively bought and consumed by the aristocracy of the world.
The heritage of Groot Constantia would be incomplete without mention of its setting. As important as the product of the vine is the beauty and significance of the priceless Manor House, and the buildings grouped around it are unequalled examples of Cape Dutch architecture, both in majesty and simplicity. The collection of artefacts, including furniture and art, reflects the rich cultural tradition of the Cape.
We return to Cape Town, passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and the Groote Schuur Hospital.

Tour Description:
Seal Island aka Duiker Island in Hout Bay should be on everyone’s to-do list if you have not been there before. If you are going when the wind is blowing it is recommended that you take along warm jackets or you will definitely freeze! I would also recommend taking your camera because there are many opportunities to take great photos along the way. The actual trip to seal island isn’t very long but you get to spend some time in the channel next to the island to have a good look at the seals. After the trip you can go to the Bay harbour market.
The World of Birds in Hout Bay is a bird and wildlife sanctuary with over 3 000 birds in natural surroundings. Visitors are able to walk through the aviaries and experience close-up encounters with cranes and guineafowl, monkeys and meerkats (suricats), owls and eagles. The sanctuary also cares for injured birds and is a breeding centre for threatened species. After your visit you will be returned to Cape Town and dropped off at your hotel.

Tour Description:
Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. From here we travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising over 17 300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here we can see a variety of wildlife species including baboons, rhebuck, Cape mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world's largest breeding grounds for tortoises. Bird-watchers, too, will find many fine species to observe.
The majestic coastline offers natural spectacles worthy of being called "Nature's Greatest Show". We will be able to see the union of the Atlantic
and Indian Oceans (as per legend), and may even feel the brisk wind that is dubbed the "Cape Doctor" for its alleged curative powers.
Following the coastline along False Bay, we will return to Cape Town by way of Simon's Town with a visit to Boulders penguin colony, home to a growing colony of the vulnerable African penguin. Tour Description:
Transferred to the Nelson Mandela Gateway and embark on the Robben Island ferry for a short cruise to Robben Island. Once on the island, you will enjoy a guided tour of the island (approximately 3 hours) before returning to the mainland.
For nearly 400 years, Robben Island (situated 12 km from Cape Town) was a place of banishment, exile, isolation and imprisonment. This is the place where the country’s rulers sent those whom they regarded as political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society. Some freedom fighters (the most famous among them, Nelson Mandela) spent more than a quarter of a century in prison for their beliefs. After the tour, you will take the ferry back to the mainland and make your own way back to your hotel.
Tour Includes:
* Guide (English-speaking)
* Robben Island (ferry departure times: 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm, weather permitting)
* 1 x Bottled bottled water
